Research Interests:
Matt is interested in understanding the mechanisms by which microbes communicate with their host. Matt completed his PhD in Biochemistry at Emory University, specializing in structure biology. With this background, he plans to uncover the biochemical signals derived from gut bacteria to control host biology in his postdoctoral studies.

Personal Interests:
Matt enjoys playing music (guitar, piano, and singing), cooking, home renovations, and spending time with his wife and two kids.
