Postdoc Mentoring Committee

We encourage each MGM postdoc to organize her/his postdoc mentoring committee. A typical postdoc mentoring committee consists of 3-4 scientists.  The committee members would complement her/his own PI’s expertise, and advice on her/his career. Some of the committee members may write recommendation letters. If a postdoc identifies scientists outside Duke (academic, government or industry) who would benefit the research and career, it would be great to have them as committee members. The committee would meet roughly on an annual basis.

A postdoc mentoring committee should be organized within the first year. Once a committee is formed, please send the names to hiroaki.matsunami@duke.edu

Hiro Matsunami is always happy to discuss with postdocs for forming committees or any other businesses.
