Host-pathogen interactions
I’m originally from Casper, Wyoming, and I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Wyoming. I studied chemical engineering at UW, with an emphasis in biological engineering. After graduating, I came to Duke University to pursue a master’s degree in biomedical engineering. During my time at Duke, I got a chance to work on several interesting projects pertaining to synthetic biology, including a project investigating a novel approach to the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy utilizing urea cycle enzymes, for which I completed my master’s project. I then joined the Coers Lab as a research technician, where we are studying interferon-regulated GTPases and their role in cell-autonomous immunity.
