Hosted by the Duke Microbiome Center, the North Carolina American Society for Microbiology (NC-ASM) had record attendance at its annual meeting at Duke last month, attracting more than 300 researchers from across the Southeast.
Event organizer Dr. Jason Arnold of MGM was elected president of NC-ASM and began his term during the event.
The meeting included 134 presentations focused on the ever-changing microbial world. The 22 academic and industry groups represented included the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte, Duke University, East Carolina University, Appalachian State University, North Carolina State University and North Carolina Central University.
