Tri-I MMPTP alum José Vargas-Muñiz, PhD, has been named a 2024 Whitman Center Fellow by the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL).
Whitman Center Fellowships enable exceptional scientists to conduct independent research at the MBL and take advantage of its unique resources and highly collaborative scientific community. The fellows are supported for up to 10 weeks to pursue research.
The title of Dr Vargas-Muñiz' project is "Identifying Marine Fungi-Bacterial Interactions and Developing Genetic Tools for Marine-Derived Yeasts".
