Yong-Sun Bahn
Yong-Sun Bahn, PhD, Underwood Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Biotechnology at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, will present a talk on March 29 at 4pm in 143 Jones. Sun was a post-doctoral fellow and sabbatical professor in the Heitman lab, and is thus a returning alumnus of MGM. His pioneering research program focuses on the global human pathogens Cryptococcus and Candida auris, and he has also founded a company with ~25 employees focused on developing novel antifungal therapeutics. Sun is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and has multiple Editor roles including an Associate Editor for several journals mBio, mSphere, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, and the Journal of Microbiology and an Academic Editor for PLoS ONE.
