Lab Alumni Update: Riya Mohan

While an undergraduate at Duke University, Riya Mohan gained research experience working in the lab of Joe Heitman, PhD, chair of the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology.

She’s currently a visiting scholar at Ku Leuven in Belgium, where she has been conducting work on gene editing, ethics, and policy. She was recently accepted to Long School of Medicine.

With a strong background in bioethics and a passion for responsible scientific innovation, she is eager to apply her knowledge to the field of medicine. “I look forward to integrating my expertise in policy and ethics with clinical practice to shape the future of patient care and medical research,” she said.
