Alumni Spotlight: Aaliyah Davy
Aaliyah Davy graduated from Duke University in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Genetics. While at Duke, she conducted research in the lab of Joe Heitman, PhD, chair of the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, and was a Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Fellow.
After graduation, she pursued self-directed studies and personal projects in data science, volunteered as a data science consultant for a local hair salon, and taught coding full time to middle school students. Since June of last year, she has been interning remotely at Duke’s BIG IDEAS Lab, focusing on predicting glucose levels from smartwatch biomarkers.
Davy is excited to share that she’s joining Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) as a statistical genetic analyst in April 2025. “I look forward to contributing to VUMC’s mission starting this Spring.” she said.
