Research Interest: Virology, Cancer Biology. I have worked in the Luftig lab at Duke for over two years and my research is focused on Epstein-Barr Virus-associated Gastric Cancer.
Personal Interests: I grew up in a small coastal town in Connecticut and moved to North Carolina to attend UNC Wilmington for my undergraduate degree. I was a member of the Honors Program and studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain for four months. During college I started playing Ultimate Frisbee for the UNCW club team, Seaweed. I currently play for an elite club women’s team called Raleigh Phoenix and we compete nationally from June through October. In the off season, I rock climb and workout at Triangle Rock Club. I also spend a lot of time hiking and camping. I have a black lab/corgi mix named Summer who comes on all my hiking trips with me. I have traveled extensively throughout the US and had the opportunity to travel in Europe during my semester abroad. One of the reasons I decided to stay in North Carolina for graduate school is because I can travel to either the mountains or the beach in two hours. I still try to go out to Wilmington often to visit friends and go to Wrightsville Beach.
