I am an undergraduate student in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, class of 2016. I am a Biology major with a minor in Chemistry. I began working in the Heitman lab in January of 2014 with Dr. Yong-Sun Bahn. Our work focused on in vivo virulence testing of a large library of Cryptococcus neoformans transcription factor and kinase deletion mutants.

I am currently working with Dr. Soo Chan Lee to test a recyclable pyrG marker for use in multiple gene knockouts in Mucor circinelloides. Additionally, we are working on enhancing homologous recombination in M. circinelloides by disrupting orthologues to the human KU70 gene involved in the main pathway for nonhomologous recombination.
