I was born and raised in Jamaica, and migrated to Florida after completing high school. I did my undergraduate studies at the Edison State College and Florida Gulf Coast University where (FGCU) I majored in biotechnology. While there, I joined the lab of Drs. Scott Micahel and Sharon Isern where the focus was on flavivirus entry, the development of small molecule inhibitors of dengue virus, and the characterization of the human antibody response to dengue virus infection. In the Keene lab, I am working on projects aimed at understanding alternative polyadenylation and improving upon methods to study protein-RNA interactions. I love football (soccer), and the martial arts, and last but never the least my wife.
