TRAINING PROGRAMS
Molecular Mycology and Pathogenesis Training Program (MMPTP)
Summary of Trainees

Seventeen to 19 trainees have completed the program: 13 to 15 at Duke, two at UNC-CH, one at NCSU, and one at both Duke and NCSU. Of these past trainees, one is a governmental scientist, three are in industry, six are academic Research Associates, one is a non-tenure track Laboratory Administrator, and six are tenure-track faculty members at research universities. Notably, seven of our former trainees have been awarded NIH research grants (Cramer, Smith, Nielsen, Icenhour, Lin, Idnurm and Fortwendel). The following table lists each trainee with his or her period of support, mentor, and current position. Of the total of 23 to 27 past and current MMPTP trainees to date, two (9%) are members of underrepresented minority groups, and 11 to 15 trainees (48% to 56%) are women.
