TRAINING PROGRAMS

A central mission of the Center of Microbial Pathogenesis is the training of the next generation of scientists in molecular microbial pathogenesis. Graduate students at Duke are supported via several interdepartmental training programs as well as those supported by a departmental umbrella, including:

  • The University Program in Genetics and Genomics
  • Molecular Mycology Pathogenesis Training Program (MMPTP)
  • The Woods Hole course: Molecular Mycology of Fungal Pathogenesis
  • Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (MGM) Graduate Program

  • Duke Scholars in Infectious Diseases Program (DSID)

Mycology Meritorious Research Travel Awards

The Duke University Mycology Research Unit (DUMRU) of the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis will award travel grants, worth $500 each, to support students or post-doctoral fellows to attend national and international scientific meetings. Bacteriology Meritorious Research Travel Awards

The Bacteriology Research Unit of the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis will award travel grants worth at least $600 to support graduate students or post-doctoral fellows to attend national and international scientific meetings.
