Walton Receives 2006 Dean's Summer Research Fellowship

Durham, N.C. (May 2006) – Felicia Walton, an undergraduate student in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the Duke University Medical Center, has been invited to participate in the Dean's Summer Fellowship Program in support of undergraduate research and inquiry in the arts and sciences this summer.  

The goals of the Dean's Summer Fellowship Program are to strengthen undergraduate research opportunities for Trinity College undergraduates, to enlarge the scope of undergraduate research conducted on and off campus during the summer, and to provide support to enable undergraduates to extend the period over which they engage in research. Walton's research project for the program will be completed with her mentor, Joseph Heitman, M.D., Ph.D.
