Steinbach Receives American Society of Transplantation Grant
Durham, N.C. (February 2007) — William Steinbach, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Duke University Medical Center, was selected to receive an American Society of Transplantation grant in the amount of $80,000.
The purpose of the AST Faculty Grants is to fund young investigators at the Instructor or Assistant Professor Level (or equivalent) to permit them to expand on preliminary research results that will be the basis for an individual research award or career development award from the NIH, the VA, or equivalent agencies.
The American Society of Transplantation (AST) was founded in 1982 and is an organization of more than 2,600 transplant professionals dedicated to research, education, advocacy, and patient care in transplantation. The organization's goal is to offer a forum for the exchange of knowledge, scientific information, and expertise in the field of transplantation. |
