Steinbach Receives Children's Miracle Network Grant
February 2007 — William Steinbach, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Duke University Medical Center, was selected to receive a Children's Miracle Network Grant (CMN) in the amount of $50,000 for his proposed study: Calcineurin Inhibition to Prevent and Treat Invasic Aspergillosis.
CMN funds support research projects aimed at improving the health and welfare of children; or elaborating principles of biology or disease processes that have an impact on the health and welfare of children. These projects may be of a clinical or laboratory nature. While all funded proposals must be meritorious, priority is given to investigators submitting pilot project proposals (new, previously unfunded endeavors) with likelihood for future funding. |
