Schell Receives Medical Mycological Society of the Americas' Billy H. Cooper Award

Durham, N.C. (May 2006) — Wiley Schell, MS, an assistant research professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health and Director of the Medical Mycology Research Center at the Duke University Medical Center at the Duke University Medical Center, was selected by the Medical Mycological Society of the Americas to receive the Billy H. Cooper Award for excellence in clinical research, laboratory diagnostic procedures, and teaching. The Billy H. Cooper Award is conferred upon an individual who has contributed substantially to the clinical applications of medical mycology, particularly in laboratory diagnosis and recognition of mycoses.
