O'Meara Receives Outstanding Young Investigator Award

Durham, N.C. (March 2009) — Teresa O’Meara, a graduate student at Duke University Medical Center, has received the Eukaryotic Cell Outstanding Young Investigator Award for her presentation entitled, Cryptococcus neoformans Rim101/PacC homolog is involved in capsule and iron regulation. This award was given for the best poster presentation at the 25th Annual Asilomar Fungal Genetics meeting. O’Meara works in the laboratory of J. Andrew Alspaugh, MD, in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases.
