Lin Receives 2009 ICAAC Young Investigator Award

Durham N.C. (May 2009) — Xiaorong Lin, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Biology at Texas A & M University and former Heitman lab member, was selected by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) to receive the 2009 ICAAC Young Investigator Award. Supported in part by an unrestricted educational grant from Merck, U.S. Human Health Division, since 1983, the ICAAC Young Investigator Awards recognize and reward early career scientists for research excellence and potential in microbiology and infectious diseases. Lin will be recognized during the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), which will take place in San Francisco from September 12-15, 2009.
