Aballay Receives 2005 ICAAC Young Investigator Award

July 2005 — Alejandro Aballay, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the Duke University Medical Center, was selected by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) to receive the 2005 ICAAC Young Investigator Award. Supported in part by an unrestricted educational grant from Merck, U.S. Human Health Division, since 1983, the ICAAC Young Investigator Awards recognize and reward early career scientists for research excellence and potential in microbiology and infectious diseases. He will be recognized during the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) on Thursday, September 22, 2005.
