Aboobaker and Li Selected for 2009 ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship (URF) Program
Durham, N.C. (April 2009) — Eanas Aboobaker and Charles Li, undergraduate students at Duke University Medical Center, have been selected to participate in the 2009 ASM Undergraduate Fellowship (URF) Program. This program is aimed at highly competitive students who wish to pursue graduate careers (PhD or MD/PhD) in microbiology. The ASM URF program supports 10 weeks of summer research in the laboratory of an ASM member and provides travel expenses to attend the 2010 ASM General Meeting in San Diego. Aboobaker and Li work in the laboratory of Joseph Heitman, MD, PhD in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology.
