I received my Ph.D. degree in Microbiology in March 2008 at the Medical School of Marseille, University of the Mediterranean. My research in Marseille was mainly focused on molecular identification and characterization of some fastidious bacteria and human lice, the vecors of Rickettsia prowazekii, Borrelia recurrentis, Bartonella quintana. I also participated in a comparative genomics study of Francisella tularensis.

I joined the Heitman lab as a post-doctoral fellow in July 2008 to study the population genetics of C. neoformans and C. gattii as well as to characterize the mating type (MAT) locus in some fungal genomes.
