Jennifer Reedy

I am a fourth year student in the Medical Scientist Training Program (M.S.T.P.) at Duke and am currently finishing my second year of graduate school in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Prior to coming to Duke, I attended Cornell University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Genetics and Development in 2000. In the Heitman lab, my work focuses on the human pathogen Candida albicans. Previous work from the lab has shown that the protein calcineurin is necessary for the survival of C. albicans in serum. I am exploring this interaction further, and I am working to elucidate other members of the calcineurin signaling cascade, particularly those that are involved in serum sensitivity.
