I am originally from the small town of Boston NY, located just south of
Buffalo in the western part of the state. I traveled to Connecticut to attend
college at Yale University, followed by a year in the real Boston (MA)
as a research technician in the Lindquist Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2009, I made the
long trip down south to attend Duke, and am currently a first-year
graduate student in the Department of Molecular Genetics and
Microbiology. My first rotation was in the Heitman lab, where I studied the role calcineurin plays in mating for C. lusitaniae and
C. tropicalis. Outside of lab, I can be found cheering on my beloved
Buffalo Bills and Sabres, playing harp, or cooking copious amounts of
food for friends and neighbors.
