Min Ni

I received my B.S. degree in biological sciences from the University of Science & Technology of China, Hefei, China in 2002. I waas then awarded an M.S. degree in Molecular Engineering of Biological and Chemical Systems from Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA), Singapore in 2003. In the fall of 2003, I joined the Department of Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA and worked as a graduate student in Dr. Jaehyuk Yu’s lab. My Ph.D. thesis focused on the investigation of the regulatory mechanisms underlying sporogenesis in the model filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans.

After receiving a Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2008, I joined the Heitman lab in December 2008. Currently, I am interested in investigating the functions of certain mating type locus genes during mating and monokaryotic fruiting in Crypotococcus neoformans.
