I obtained my B.S degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz where I completed a thesis project on the characterization of the transcription factor Apetala 2 (AP2) during flower development in the mustard Arabidopsis Thaliana. Following my tenure at UC Santa Cruz, I worked at Ceres-Inc, a privately-owned plant genomics company where I worked on characterizing chromatin remodeling complexes during seed development. Currently, I am a graduate student in the Heitman lab where I am studying nutrient sensing and filamentous growth in Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans .
