Research Interest: Yeast genetics, genome instability
I am originally from Wuhan, a major transportation hub in central China, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through it. Then I went to Tsinghua University in Beijing and finished my undergraduate degree in biology.
Here at Duke, I joined the yeast genetics lab of Dr. Tom Petes in the summer of 2012, and have been working on how cells repair DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) since.
I really enjoy exploring the natural beauty of North Carolina, which is quite different from the metropolitan areas where I spent most of my time before I came to Durham. Outside of lab, I like hanging out with my friends and hiking, camping, exploring decent restaurants nearby and traveling. I am also a big fan of exploring all the different walking trails and fun outdoor places in the local area!
