Research Interest: Immunostimulatory antimicrobial peptides

I was born and raised in a small town in northern Florida. From there, I moved to New Jersey to complete my undergraduate education at Princeton University where I majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. For my undergraduate thesis research, I spent 10 weeks camping out on Shackleford Banks (off the coast of North Carolina) doing animal behavior research on a population of wild horses. After college, I taught 7th grade science in Houston, Texas through the Teach for America program. In my free time, I like to watch movies, and to play and watch sports. My favorite sport is basketball, and I played volleyball, softball, and basketball in high school and rugby in college. I also like to cook (my favorite thing to make is desserts), and I like to do arts and craft type activities such as sewing and knitting. My favorite types of food are seafood (I love shrimp!) and any type of Asian cuisine (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc). Other activities that I enjoy are going to the beach or to a water park, and I LOVE roller coasters. On campus, I am heavily involved in several mentorship programs and serve on the board or committees of many campus
