Research Interests: Human genetics, flaviviruses, virology
I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up mostly in Tainan City in the southern part of Taiwan. I graduated from Nation Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei and came to Duke through the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (MGM) program.
I spent most of the time in Dr. Chi's lab studying virology and aquatic acute disease during my undergraduate period. I also visited NCSU in Dr. Fuller's lab for lentivirus research. After graduate study and rotations during my first year in MGM, I joined the Goldstein lab in the summer of 2011, focusing on the genetic basis of Hepatitis C treatment responses, both on genetic variations and molecular mechanism.
For leisure activities, I enjoy movies and various famous television series. Favorite sports are baseball or softball. I am also interested in some other topics such as automobiles, as well as caring for pets.
