Research Interest: Microbial pathogenesis.
I graduated in 2009 from Saint Vincent College, a small liberal arts college in Southwestern Pennsylvania. In my time at St. Vincent, I was part of the Koehl 'Staph', and worked on a project studying probiotics isolated from common yogurts.
I joined the laboratory of Sunhee Lee in June of 2010 where I am evaluating the effects of pro-apoptotic mutants of Mycobacterium tuberculosis on virulence and immunogenicity.
I’m originally from Washington, PA, a small city south of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania (which happens to be home to both the 2009 Superbowl Champs and the 2009 Stanley Cup Champs!). In my free time, I like to spend time with friends, my husband, and our dog Kalia. I also enjoy doing crafty things like stained and fused glass projects.
