Research Interests

I am interested in how human variation affects responses to yellow fever. My thesis research examines yellow fever epidemics in the United States from the 17th-20th centuries and analyzes whether or not certain human populations are more susceptible to yellow fever than others. I am using the historical record and current epidemiological research to investigate why these discrepancies in susceptibility and severity may exist. Graduating with distinction in December, I will be applying to graduate school to pursue human variation and its effect on complex diseases and phenotypes.
